James Gallagher is a certified editing specialist (EEI Communications) and a
recipient of the Vivian Nellis Award for creative writing. James graduated from the
George Washington University with a bachelor of arts degree in English (1994) and
has since published short fiction and magazine articles in national magazines. He
has also worked as a professional writer and editor for the Department of Defense
and for Recorded Books, LLC, one of the world's leading audiobook publishers.

James's work for Recorded Books includes his role as editor for the company's
large-print division. As the large-print editor, James gained invaluable editorial
experience and was able to work extensively with typesetters, printers, and art-rights
managers at the major publishing houses. James's work at Recorded Books now
includes writing copy for audiobook covers and editing the course guides that
accompany the Modern Scholar series of lectures, which feature renowned
professors from the world's most prestigious universities.

Through Castle Walls, James has met a wide variety of clients in both the corporate
and entertainment worlds. James particularly enjoys horror fiction and his favorite
authors include Dostoevsky, Kafka, Clive Barker, and Ramsey Campbell. In addition
to newspaper and magazine articles, James has published essays and fiction in the
